Scrap-a-palooza!

Last Saturday, my scrappy pal Danielle and I attended Scrap-a-palooza! More than 250 scrappers got together and played with paper from 9am to 10pm! We had a ball! I had the goal of doing two-pagers as they are my hardest types of pages to scrap.

Becoming a Jedi

I've held onto our favorite memories at Disneyland because I had so many pictures of each of the two events and knew I'd need to create two-page layouts for them. I'm so pleased with the way this Jedi layout turned out! And surprisingly, it came together in about the same amount of time as a one-pager would have.

Meeting the Princesses

This one I used as the sketch challenge for the crop. My pictures fit nicely into their sketch. It also came together pretty easily.

Becoming Mothra

And then there was more time so I threw this one together - another layout that required two-pagers because of the pictures I wanted to include.

So there you have it - a fun day of scrapbooking and several layouts to show for it! Dave and Zoe spent the afternoon over at Danielle's house playing with her husband and kids. A very fun day for everyone involved!

Crop Date with Danielle

A few weeks ago, my best-scrappy-gal-pal Danielle came over with her kids to share a Friday night at my house. We opened up the kitchen table, set up two work areas and got busy creating. This is the first of many Friday nights we will spend together and I’m so very happy to be living so close to her now!!

My new scrappy area

My how my scrappy area’s have changed over the years. In the new place in Missouri, I’m located in the dining room with my desk. My desk doesn’t have enough work surface now, so I’m trying out the kitchen table to see how it’s going to work for me. I changed out the chair for my comfy stool and put a rug under me. I was able to scrap several layouts a few weekends ago like this (photo taken on New Years Day). Not my loft, that’s for sure, but still a place I can create in. It’ll do for now…

Welcome 2011 - Sketchy Thursdays sketch

Finally getting back into the groove with Sketchy Thursdays! This is the product of the first official Friday night scrap night with my best scrappin’ pal, Danielle! What a huge perk of moving back to Missouri - regular scrap dates! The kids had a ball together, minus a couple little meltdowns by my own, it was after 9 before her emotions got the best of her, I think. I look forward to many more of these Friday nights!

the year the girls came to visit

I created this one while I had the table full of the Studio Calico November kit - Napa Valley. I’ve really enjoyed working with this kit and have lots and lots of product yet. I had also gotten the Mendocino and Santa Cruz add-ons. I had picked up Mendocino during the black Friday sale and it was super cheap with a coupon I had. In this layout, I embossed the stamped alphas and really love the way it turned out!

A few more November memories

our first turkey

stingrays

Both of these were made using the November Studio Calico kit, Napa Valley.

I’m enjoying the new setup in this house with my computer and desk in the dining room/living room/kitchen area. I do miss my loft so very much and all the space I had, but I have to admit that I like having the kit on the kitchen table with some chosen tools and my pictures. I am able to work on the layout here and there during the day and be spread out on the table, with more work surface.
