we love lois
I made this last weekend during a much needed Saturday afternoon with Danielle and kids. I’m still working through some 2010 pictures and I’ve been wanting to scrap the middle picture of the girls for a long while! I finally just pulled it out and noticed how well this Studio Calico kit matched their shirts. So, proceeded to pull out a few supporting photos of Zoe and Lois - I love the way it turned out! We do love our Lois and don’t get to see her near as much as we’d like. She is heavily on my mind today.

Finishing up some November layouts from the ScrapRoom
This layout is made using the Little Yellow Bicycle kit from the November ScrapRoom flavor of the month kits. I thought it was perfect to pull the pinks out of the pictures. I made the big red flower using my Slice - I love that machine!! I also made the journaling block and shadow using the Slice.

This next layout is made with the Crate Paper Farmhouse line - I love this line! The flip side of that brown ruler paper was a red checkerboard that I originally planned to use, but when I flipped it over, it seemed to fit my picture and theme more so. I love the way it turned out!
The sketch is from Allison Davis’ sketchbook for One-Page layouts (found here).

Fall in the Park
Layout inspired by the sketch of the month from the ScrapRoom using the Basic Grey kit this month. I’m not exactly loving the way it turned out - the green and blue just aren’t my favorite in the title. I don’t think the layout does the picture justice…

Twinkle Toes
I fell in love with the colors of the Jillibean Sweet and Sour Soup line and knew the pictures of Zoe and her Twinkle Toes would go perfectly. Then, when I saw Allison Davis’ November layout of the month, I just KNEW I had to create a layout just like hers! Same manufacturer, just a different line.

I did some hand-stitching on the flower stems and pop-dotted pieces of the flowers. I’m pleased with the layout!

Scrapbook Generation Sketch Class - 1st Grade
Finally finished a sketch class layout from back in September! This is from Scrapbook Generations monthly sketch class from Debbie Sanders. Click here for details.
I made a few adjustments to the sketch, instead of 2 3x3 pictures on the right, I used a vertical 4x6 and snipped it down to 3x6.
This layout documents Zoe’s first day of school this year. I let her write the “About Me” information in pencil and then I traced over with my brown Micron pen (my favorite journaling pen).
And yes, those are her fingers holding the layout in place. It was really windy outside this morning!

Sketch Support Challenge for Simple Stories
I absolutely love the new manufacturer Simple Stories, every single thing they release, I can see myself using. I love that Allison Davis also has a fondness for this company. I was excited to see that she teamed up with them for a challenge this week. She provided the sketch (which is also fabulous!) and the challenge was to use Simple Stories product. How easy, right?! I chose to create my layout using the Life Documented line.

More Scrapbook Generation classes/sketches
Last Saturday, I was extremely excited about the class embellishments, title and some of the papers. I traded out the title piece for the little circle embelly with the airplane and created my own title.

Here is the original sketch layout:

Then, this past Tuesday I went in for this Allison Davis class to learn this fancy wave technique.

Today’s sketch class used these papers from WeRMemory Keepers, I wasn’t thrilled with them until I saw our wedding picture and knew they’d look perfect on the layout. Incidentally, I have not scrapped our wedding photos yet and we’re coming up on our 12th anniversary - so win win with this week’s class! I also had to change it up just a little - I needed to remove some of that stark white background, so I used my Sunshine Studio Calico mist.

These kits are available for purchase through Scrapbook Generation. They are reasonably priced and go together so quickly!

Scrapbook Generation Sketch Class with Simple Stories
I absolutely LOVE the new Simple Stories line of products. When paired with Scrapbook Generation’s Debbie Sanders and Allison Davis sketches - match made in scrappy heaven! Below are the 3 layouts that I did during this past Saturday’s Super Saver Sketch class. I finished all during the 2 hours in class except for the stitching and photos in the last layout. Not too shabby!

Recent Layouts
Here are my most recent layouts. The first is one that I started a few weeks ago and finally got a picture of it over the weekend.

Here’s a couple that were created at Danielle’s during our most recent Friday night scrap night at her house. I actually finished TWO layouts while there!

And finally, the below layout is from my Saturday sketch class at Scrapbook Generation. The sketch is by Allison Davis.

Danielle and I took this self-paced sketch class at Scrapbook Generations this morning. What a treat! We spent almost 2 hours at the store and finished a 2 page layout. Love it!

June Scrap-a-Palooza!
THIRTEEN and a half hours spent with my gal pal Danielle in a room full of other scrappers, gluing and cutting and talking scrapbooking - that’s my idea of a great way to spend a Saturday!
Below are the layouts I completed during my time there. I went with no plan, no sketches, no idea what I was going to work on. I ended up pulling out the new July Studio Calico kit and played most the day with it.

This last one was made using the January Studio Calico kit - Who’s Who. I finished the embellishments and journaling this morning.

Some past Friday night scrap date layouts… catching up
These were created during my Friday night scrap date’s with Danielle at her house. I just finally photographed the top one and finished up the bottom one.
Today has been the day to take pictures of layouts and upload and finish up layouts that just had a few final touches needed. Feels great to get this done!

Layouts Completed in the Hotel
A few weeks ago, I travelled to Nashville for my job. I was there from Tuesday until Saturday, with evenings to myself. I took along my scrap supplies and my pictures and got creative with an older Studio Calico kit - Back 40 (one of my favorites!).
I’m pretty sure the 1 page layout above is from a sketch, but I cannot seem to locate which sketch. I will keep looking, but wanted to get these posted so that my dad could see his layout feature. :)
Thanks for looking!

Sam to the Rescue
I created this layout with the May Studio Calico kit - Lawn Party using a sketch from Sketch Support. I expanded the 1 page sketch into a 2 page layout. I didn’t do so good with the wave part but got tired of fighting with it on the 2nd page! The doilies were made by a good friend, my dad’s wife, Nancy. She’s been making me all sorts of little embellishments like this and I just love them!

Family Fun Night
It’s All About the Balloons
Here’s another layout made with the Studio Calico May - Lawn Party kit. I love the way this one turned out, mostly because of those balloons. I created this during one of my Friday night scrap dates with Danielle and she suggested we pull out her cricut and cut some balloons… LOVE them!

I used a sketch from the Scrappiest, I love Liz’s sketches!
