Project Life 2023 - Week 3 and 4

 Week 3 and 4 - Project Life 2023

The cards are cut from old Project Life card sets. I don't like that they have rounded edges, so I've been cutting off the ends and trying to use the pieces along with pics or other cards in order to have square edges. Because there are multiple of the same card in the set, I was able to use 2 of the same card to make the pink star 'Currently in the...' cards on the left. The stamps in those cards are from Ali Edwards.

Again, trying to use what I have and just play with the products while documenting the every day. I'm liking the smaller page size. And I'm finding a lot of pinks in our pics this year, so far.

I'm also enjoying the stamping. It's a little more time consuming but I like the look and the process.

Project Life 2023 - Week 2

 Week 2 - Project Life 2023

I should be showing a 'before' and 'after' pic - I switched out cards and embellies a few times from when I put the pics and cards in the pockets a few weeks ago and when I sat down to cut and glue and stamp and write.

Week 2 also needed to be a double page spread, Dave's birthday week, beautiful sunny day in January, followed by ground-covering snow the next day.

Since this is a smaller size page, I'm not able to fit the dogs on the front cover page. I've included our pets on the front page of every year since starting the Project Life concept in 2009. I figured with such an awesome shot of the pups and this being a story I wanted to tell about them in the mornings, I'd turn this pic into their 'start of the year' photo and use up that 'hello 2023' embellishment, Where else would I be able to use it? Use the stuff, Kim!

Most of the products are from the January 2023 Ali Edwards Story by the Month kit.

Project Life 2023 - Week 1

Welcome back to Scrappin' with ZoezMom!

I'm trying a new size for our yearly family album. I used to document one month at a time and referred to the project as Project 12. Now that I'm going about this project on a weekly basis, I'm switching up the size and format, mostly to use up the supplies I've already got on hand. I have 2 of these 12x6 albums from Studio Calico, not sure if a full year will fit into just 1, we'll see.

The yellow one in front is the new size for 2023, the black album is 2022, shown for comparison.

Usually, I get as far as putting pictures and cards into the pockets and move on to the next month. This is probably the main reason I haven't shared layouts or P12 in several years, I just haven't actually COMPLETED the pages. I hope to change that this year, and part of that is sharing what I've completed...including previous years dabbled throughout as I 'complete' them.

Project Life 2023 - Title Page

I'm keeping a spot open for a family photo from this year. I have plans to search my stash for sequins to drop into that 2023 pocket and then I'll use my fuse tool to seal it.

Peeking through the '2023' are the cards from Week 1 - planning and lining up that background card on the right took probably an hour here and there, back and forth. I love the way it turned out.

It's a work in progress, much like each week. I have pictures and cards up through this past week when I ran out of photo paper. Hence diving into the part I always seem to skip - titling, journaling and embellishing.

Kit: Ali Edwards Stories by the Month January 2023

Week 1 - January 1 - 8, 2023

I want the weeks to start on Monday and end on Sunday, so this first week has one extra day.

I love the products from the kit and wanted to include them without eliminating pictures. My solution was creating little flip ups with the tags cut from the 4x6 card in the kit.

One of my goals for the year is to use my stamps and use my stash. I keep all of this great product within arms reach in cute little drawers, why not USE it?

Flip-ups - my first time creating something like this, I think. I still need details from Zoe for the card, but this is good enough to move on to the next week!

a Little R & R - a Sketch Challenge from the ScrapRoom

a little r & r

I'm trying to kickstart some scrapbooking layouts by jumping into sketch challenges again. Back in the day, this was the best motivation to complete pages so I thought I'd check out my old kit club, the ScrapRoom

Sure enough, thanks to Rochelle Spears and her February Sketch Challenge, the above layout came together and is 'in the books'! Or rather, displayed on the wall before finding it's home in the appropriate album.

And to add some extra challenge fun, I did the bonus part of the challenge, Scrap with Stacy's Tic Toc Challenge, in which I used an arrow, hearts and mixed alpha.

Thanks for checking out my layout! Hopefully the layout streak will continue in the coming weeks.

March 2017 Retreat Layouts

I went on a scrapbook retreat in March and worked on kits that I had put together last year - I'm hoping this boost helps me to focus more energy into my hobby to get caught up on pictures. We'll see.

Layouts below are from Zoe's 10th birthday (2015)
