Studio Calico Sunday Sketch - Mom's Turn to Learn

Using a sketch from Nicole Harper, I created this layout for the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch challenge.

Products used are from the Studio Calico July 2010 Continental kit.

I wanted to tell the story, the real story, of how I'm struggling as Zoe's teacher at home with her homework. I'm surprised with myself because I've always wanted to be a teacher in real life, but when I sit down to help her with her reading or writing... wow. I have no patience and I get easily frustrated with her. I was able to see this and stopped it and had a nice talk with her Monday night and explained to her that I'm new at being her teacher and that it may take me some time to get good at it just like it's going to take her time to learn it.

I like to scrap/document the struggles as well as the good times because it paints the real picture of our family. I want her to know when she gets older that it isn't easy and that I had to work at being a good mom.

You're such a good mom to take a step back and not force Zoe but instead see how you can improve to help her. I also love that you're showing the real story in your layout. I think as Zoe gets older she will appreciate both these things too.
