Phoenix Zoo through Dave’s eyes

I created this layout for a recipe challenge on the ScrapRoom board. The challenge was to use:

-yellow, brown and green
-stars
-a picture on the top third of the page (but any number of pictures anywhere, as long as there is one in the top third)
-at least three patterned papers

I used the November ScrapRoom kit, featuring October Afternoon Campfire. I love it when OA gives us a grid for a side B, they make such great base papers. The stars are from Studio Calico (also featured in the TSR kit), I used maya mist in lime metallic on them to have them match my bits of postage stamped papers from the OA line. Sticker alpha’s are from Sassafras, I just love those little alpha’s, they seem to have the right amount of all the letters you always seem to need and you can use them over and over in numerous layouts. The stamped alpha’s are from Studio Calico, aren’t they so cool?! Journal tag is from an older line of OA, just pulled from my stash.

This inspiration to put the little photos on postage-stamped pattern paper came from a recent layout I’ve seen from Keshet Starr, her work is amazing!
