Unplug for a Day in May

I have a set group of blogs that I read through every single day, the majority of them are scrapbook related because they make me happy. I have a bookmark in my browser (I love Firefox) that's titled "daily inspiration" and I open ALL of them at once, go through one by one, closing the ones I've read, keeping open the ones I need to go back to and read again. Today, there are 23 sites in the folder. This changes sometimes on a weekly basis, I'll add a few, remove a few - depending on what is inspiring me at the time. I have my favorites of about 15 that won't ever be removed. It takes me about 15 minutes to go through them while I drink my morning coffee - and then I'll keep a few open to continue to look at as I have breaks at work.

Anyway, during my morning session today, on Stacy Julian's page, I read about this movement to UNPLUG. I'm happy to report that I plan to do this some Friday when I am off work - sometime this month. It may be this week, it may be at the end of the month. But I AM going to do this and then blog about it on June 1st. When I first read it, I thought - hey, I do this every weekend when I'm not at work. But the reality is, I check email several times a day on the weekend, I peruse a few blogs, there's always something on the computer that I "need" to look up or at. I'm not bad about my cell phone - if you know me, you know I can easily live without that! TV is really only watched on Monday nights for CBS comedy shows - and those are taped for later viewing. So really, it's just letting go of the computer that will be tough for me. I'm looking forward to this, though.

Want to join me?
